Kathleen Dolores Morrissey

Kathleen Dolores Morrissey (nee Diem), age 77, of Abingdon, MD passed away on May 31, 2024. She was the devoted mother of Jay Morrissey and his partner Lisa Hausner, and Daniel Morrissey; loving best friend of Norma Downs; dear sister of Junior Diem, Dennis Diem, Linda Restivo, Theresa Lipple, Donald Diem, and the late Mary Jo Byrd, Jerry Diem, Bobby Diem, and Ricky Diem. Also survived by her former husband, Bill Pilkerton and his daughter Jessica Ramage, as well as a multitude of cherished nieces and nephews.

Kathleen's life reflected the paramount teaching of Christ "Love your neighbor as yourself." She was a social being at her core, truly celebrating time spent with family and friends that gave her strength during the rough times, laughter and joy the rest of the time. She was an avid fan of the Ravens and Orioles, The Beatles and Elvis, and was quick to embrace both adventure and her fellow kindred spirits encountered along the journey. Ever the hard worker, her determination in the face of adversity never failed.

Family and friends are invited to gather at the Schimunek Funeral Home, 9705 Belair RD, Nottingham, MD 21236, on Friday, June 7, 2024, from 3-5 P.M. and 7-9 P.M. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 10 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Gardens of Faith Memorial Gardens.
