As someone who touched the lives of many a person. Kemp's will always be cherished as a Great Friend and even better human being. I will miss his easy smile and great sense of humor. My prayers go out to him and his family. I am a better person for having known and shared great times with him. Rest in Peace Kemp

I first met Kemper Owens when he was a resident at the Maryland General Hospital. We lost touch for several years until I ran into him accidentally while socializing with friends. For several years thereafter we kept in touch through our social circle, mostly comprised of current and former MGH employees until I retired from T. Rowe Price and relocated out of town. He was a good friend and companion to all of us. We shared much fun and fellowship through those years, and he will be sorely missed by all those who knew him. As a physician he was known to be conscientious and caring, and as a friend he was without equal.

I knew Kemper from my medical training at Maryland General Hospital around 1979. He was an unassuming good physician that cared well for his patients and it was fun to talk to. May his good soul rest in peace and condolences to his relatives.

As commissioner of the Maryland Hospital Softball League, I had the distinct honor of knowing Kemper, a great coach and a great man. My last contact with Kemper was to present him with the league's only "Lifetime Achievement Award" given to date. The love and respect he showed to his Maryland General players will never be forgotten.
