Lawrence Kolson Obituary
Lawrence was a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree and a respected Priest who recently celebrated 50 years of dedicated service to his faith. He spent 25 of those years serving the congregation at St. Stephens Catholic Church, where he touched the lives of many with his wisdom, kindness, and spiritual guidance.
An avid reader and passionate historian, Lawrence had a particular interest in Civil War history. His love of learning was evident to all who knew him, and he could often be found with a book in hand.
A graduate of St. Charles Seminary and St. Mary's Seminary, Lawrence was a learned man who cherished his education and used it to serve others throughout his life. Despite his many accomplishments, his family was always at the heart of his world. Known affectionately as "Uncle," he was deeply loved by his relatives, who will forever remember his warmth and generosity.
Lawrence is survived by his brother, Philip J. Kolson; sister-in-law, Lea M Kolson; nieces, Lauren M (Matthew) Kirchner, Kelly A (George Currie) Kolson, and Julie M (Kris Tofer) Scarborough; nephew, Jonathan P Kolson; grand nieces, Ellie, Lila and Nora; grand-nephews, Kaden and Beckett.
Visitations will be held under the caring guidance of the family owned and operated McComas Family Funeral Homes, at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Bradshaw, Maryland on Monday, August 19, 2024, 3 - 5 pm & 7 - 9 pm & Tuesday, August 20, 2024, 3 - 5 pm & 7 – 9 pm. A visitation will be at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Edgewood, Maryland on Wednesday August 21, 2024 from 10 – 11 am Mass will be at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to: St. Stephen Catholic Church 8030 Bradshaw Road, Kingsville, MD 21087 or to Prince of Peace Catholic Church 2600 Willoughby Beach Rd, Edgewood, MD 21040
