Linda, it’s been 11 years since I wrote in your legacy book, but I still think of you often. Recently, with the stories of IND closing, I recalled our four years together there after becoming friends with you at All Saints. Please send prayers for all of us - it’s a difficult world right now. You friend, Jane Baer Reynolds

Linda was a sweetheart. I distinctly remember that her delightful, biting wit was always spot on -- ouch! -- but even so, and even in often petty world of newspapering, I never heard anyone say an unkind word to or about her. She made everyone she met a better person.

Linda was my mothers 'Penpal' for the past 44 years. Her letters were always greatly anticipated as they came from the far off land of America - a country I have had the pleasure of visting a number of times since.

Linda's kindness was always evidient in my life even though we never met, on all the major events in my life - first job, engagment, wedding and the birth of my two children she sent words of encouragement and love to me via her letters and emails to my mother.

She will be sadly missed by all in my family. Sympathies to her family who she always spoke so foundly off.

I worked in the "women's department" at the News American with Linda for many years. She was one of the nicest people i have ever known.

Linda was a generous, gracious and warm person. A long time customer, our drivers loved picking her up. Everyone here was very sad to learn of her passing. Our condolences to her family and friends.

I also was a classmate of Linda's, both at All Saints elementary and then IND. Linda & I played together as youngsters in the Liberty Heights neighborhood, rode to high school together and then lost contact until the last IND 40th reunion. We had been in touch through e-mail and just last week "talked". I am so sorry but know that she is so happy to be with her mom, dad and brother. My condolences nad rembrances to her cousins and family of whom she spoke so highly. Jane Baer Reynolds

I worked with Linda at the News American until it folded in 1986. She was a genteel, old-fashioned girl in the best sense: always polite and considerate, intent on keeping up with her "correspondence," and charmingly naive. I hope she went on to have a fulfilling life among loyal friends.

I have been Linda's employer for the last 15 years. She was our employee of longest-standing, having been with us virtually from the beginning of our enterprise. Her job was to handle the company's paperwork, which sounds dull but in fact required a person of the utmost integrity and attention to detail. She did her job quietly, purposefully, and with complete devotion. Moreover, her affect upon the rest of us was essentially civilizing, since it was impossible to be rude or crude or in any way unfriendly around this gentle soul. That spirit will be her lasting contribution to our Company culture. We will miss her every single day.

Our cousin Linda was absolutely the  sweetest person we've ever known.

We spent some time sightseeing w/Linda during a recent family wedding and she was such a pleasure to be around,  having such a good time on her vacation. It is so sad how quickly she left us.

If anyone is destined  for heaven, we're sure it's Linda. We'll dearly miss the beautiful handwritten little notes she sent simply thanking us for a small hospitality or remembering our departed loved ones such as Patti’s parents on their birthdays.

She always knew that our 'dearly departed" are in a much better place and commiserated with us in our sadness  because we miss them so much.

Linda -  Please say hi to all our loved ones  for us and tell them we miss them. We will miss you too.
