Lloyd Warner Obituary

WARNER , Lloyd Lloyd Warner, 74, of Williamsburg died on July 27. He was born on February 6, 1936 and raised in North Wales, PA. He earned his high school diploma from Lansdale High School and his bachelor's degree from Kenyon College, where he majored in history and was a member of Sigma Pi. A graduate of Officer Candidate School in Newport, RI, he served in the USS Ranger, USS Midway and in Vietnam as part of his 21-year naval career and retired with the rank of commander. An avid lover of trains, upon retirement from the Navy, he worked as a trainmaster for Conrail in the Philadelphia area and founded and served as president of the Bellefonte Historical Railroad Society in central Pennsylvania. He also worked as a program manager for HRB Singer, a defense electronics firm in State College, PA. Following a move to Baltimore in 1995, he served as assistant director of the USS Constellation during her restoration and consulted on special projects for the Babe Ruth Birthplace Museum. In 2004 he retired to Williamsburg, where he enjoyed serving as a docent at Bruton Parish Church; golfing; and following the Philadelphia Phillies, for whom he was a life-long fan. He is preceded in death by his father Caryl Warner, mother Elizabeth Lloyd Warner Lesley, and stepfather Allen Lesley. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carol HeathWarner; daughter Deborah Warner Kloiber and her husband Anthony Kloiber of Minneapolis; son David Lloyd Warner, his wife The Rev. Maria Cristina Paglinauan, and grandchildren Grace and Benjamin of Baltimore; daughter Deirdre Warner-Kramer, her husband Gregory Kramer, and grandchildren Adam, Ethan and Joshua of Washington, D.C.; and brother Caryl Warner, Jr., and his wife Carol Gray Warner of Savannah.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 2, at Bruton Parish Church in Williamsburg, with interment in the churchyard and a reception in the parish house following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family is welcoming donations to Bruton Parish Church, P. O.
