On October 3, 2016, Margaret (Oppelt) Gallagher. Devoted wife of the late John Anthony Gallagher. Beloved mother of Eileen Roberta, Katherine Lower, Mary Perry, Judith Zadjura, Sharon Owens, James Gallagher and the late Patricia Gallagher. Loving sister of Betty Petersen and John Oppelt. Margaret is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the family owned and operated CONNELLY FUNERAL HOME OF DUNDALK, 7110 Sollers Point Road, on Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday 10am at St. Rita Catholic Church. Interment following at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Institute of Notre Dame. Online condolences may be made at www.connellyfuneralhomeofdundalk.com

I grew up around the corner from Mrs. Gallagher. She was the glue to our neighborhood. A great friend and support to my parents and without question lived a life of kindness and service to her church. To her children-sorry for your loss. Your mother was a great woman. Bo White

To the family of Ms. Margaret, I am sorry for your loss. I worked with her at St. Luke's, keeping her apartment tidy and giving her some comforting acts of kindness that I thought would aid in her quality of life. She was the sweetest lady I had on my work schedule. I looked forward to the time I could spend with her. I would sit with her (after cleaning her apt) and let her share memories and talk about the past and her family. I thought about her frequently after I left Catholic Charities and hoped that my replacement gave her extra special help and care as I did.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
