Marie Einspruch Obituary

EINSPRUCH , Marie Gerlach On March 17, MARIE GERLACH EINSPRUCH, missionary, age 102, beloved wife of the late Rev. Dr. Henry Einspruch, D.Div., died peacefully at the Village at Rockville, where she resided for the past 22 years. She is survived by her daughter Muriel and son-in-law Edward A. Hopkins of Baltimore, MD. and many loving relatives in Pennsylvania. She was born in Bethlehem, PA. on April 3,1909. From earliest? childhood she was determined to be a missionary. After completing the 2 year Lutheran Deaconess training program, she was called in 1931 to the Jewish Mission in Baltimore. Having a Pennsylvania Dutch background, she had no trouble understanding Yiddish. She became the official typesetter for the Yiddish New Testament translated by Dr. Einspruch. They married in 1941. Dr. Einspruch died in 1977 and she became the director of the mission, known today as the Lederer/Messianic Jewish Resources Intl.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 26 at 11 AM in the chapel at the Village at Rockville, 9701 Veirs Drive, Rockville, MD. 20850. Family Visitation at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Village of Rockville or Lederer/Messianic Jewish Resources Intl., 6120 Day Long Lane, Clarksville, MD. 21029.
