Mary Carmen Heil

HEIL , Mary Carmen On Monday, September 12, 2011, MARY CARMEN HEIL, age 82, of Columbia, MD, passed. She was a devoted mother of seven loving children and grandmother to eight wonderful grandchildren. Carmen was born and raised in Queens, New York before moving to Old Bridge, New Jersey with her late husband to raise a family. She later moved to Columbia, Maryland to be closer to her grandchildren and there she discovered the joys of world travel and local hiking. She was often found volunteering at Howard County General Hospital and the Wilde Lake Interfaith Center. She was also a member of the Mountain Club of Maryland.
Memorial services are to be held on Wednesday, September 21 at Centennial Park, 10000 Route 108, Pavilion G starting at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mountain Club of Maryland, 7923 Galloping Circle Baltimore, MD 21244.
