Mary Silling Obituary
Mary Lewis Silling died December 27, 2016. Mary L Silling was born October 30, 1916 to the late Joseph Horace Lewis and Edna McCourtney Lewis. She grew up on the family farm adjacent to the Jerusalem Village. She graduated from Bel Air High School in 1933. She married Paul L Silling in 1939 who died in 1993. She lived in the home they shared in Joppa until her death. She retired from APG Edgewood Arsenal in 1972. She was active in many Harford County organizations and was a 4-H leader for many years. She was a founding member of Grandview Christian Church in Fallston. She is missed by her nieces and nephews and her many friends. A memorial service is planned for early spring.

Mary and Paul were good friends of my parents, Tim and Virginia Magness. Miss Mary was a go getter. She was a great example for all women. I did not know she had her pilots license, but that sounds like her. I always looked forward to seeing her at the Harford County 4-H Farm Fair. What a long and full life she lived.I'm blessed to have known her.

Mary and Paul were good friends of my aunt and uncle, Mark and Blanche Corn. Ms. Mary was active in many organizations and was always an inspiration for those around her. She had high energy that was contagious to others. Whether with the homemakers club, church or historical groups, Mary made a big difference. She was generous with her time and was a great pleasure to have known. Rest in peace, Aunt Mary.

Peace to the family of Mary. My father, Cebert Pugh, worked with Mary for many years at Edgewood Arsenal. She was known to my sisters and me as "Aunt Mary" and was one of the nicest, most caring people I ever knew.
