Matthew Ian Feldman Saunders

Matthew Ian Feldman Saunders, of Parkville, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, December 4th, 2024, at the age of 35.

Matthew grew up in Randallstown and graduated from Pikesville High School. A gifted chef and creative soul, he spent two decades in Baltimore's restaurant scene, starting as a busboy and dishwasher before earning his way to the role of Executive Chef. Cooking was not just a career for Matthew but his art and passion. He poured his heart into every dish and found immense joy in the camaraderie of the kitchen.

Outside of his culinary world, Matthew was known for his humor and love of music. He had a unique passion for creating playlists that traced the journey of a song, exploring how it had been sampled in other tracks. He loved quizzing his family, challenging them to guess which songs used a particular sample, turning each playlist into an engaging game and a way to share his love for music. His enthusiasm was infectious, and he made even the most ordinary moments feel special and memorable.

A football fan and a doting stepfather to his best friend, Ezra, Matthew found his greatest happiness in the simple moments shared with his family. He met his wife, Molly, on Hinge during the pandemic, and their connection blossomed into a love that defined his later years. They married on June 12th, 2023, and Matthew's devotion to his family was unmatched. Known for his humor and willingness to go "all in for the bit," he brought light and laughter to those around him, even in the toughest of times.

Matthew will be remembered for his extraordinary food, his brilliant sense of humor, and his steadfast care for those he loved. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Molly Saunders; his cherished mother, Sara Feldman; and his brothers, Joshua Feldman-Saunders and Daniel Saunders. He is also survived by his stepson, Ezra, who he adored beyond measure. Matthew was predeceased by his father, Fred Saunders

A service to honor Matthew's life will take place at Sol Levinson's Chapel, 8900 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville, MD 21208, on Tuesday, December 10th, 2024, at 12:00 pm.
