Michael Fischbeck Obituary
Michael was born in Baltimore and later moved to Perry Hall, where he met his wife. They started their family and moved to Harford County, where they made countless friends. He dedicated 30+ years to working as an auditor for Safeway where he made lifelong friendships. In addition to his family, his biggest passion was the beautiful game of soccer and building. If he wasn't on a soccer field, he was watching it on TV or talking about it to anyone who would listen. To know Mike, is to love him. He will be greatly missed.

There is a Baltimore pick-up soccer game that has a history lasting approximately 50 years and started in Baltimore, moved to Perry Hall, and finally ended up in Harford County. I started playing at the pick up game in Perry Hall in the early 2000s. At that time, a group of 40-50 year old men were the core of the group including Mike Fishbeck. I, and many in my generation, played soccer with Mike´s son, Sean, at Harford, Essex, and Towson. Ironically, I have played more soccer with Mike as he was always at the Sunday pick up game. Mike and many others like him have embodied what the group has been about...fun, exercise, respect, and an absolute love of the game. Players like Mike have served as an informal support group in the background of my adult life. Mike passed away this month and will greatly be missed. Thank you Mike for all of the great moments on Sunday mornings.
