Morris Balser

Morris E. Balser, of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away on Sunday, November 9th, 2025, at the age of 79. He is survived by his beloved wife, Millicent Cierler; and cherished sister, Gail (Ernest) Derosa. He was predeceased by his dear parents, Charlotte and Jack Balser.

Morris built a long and respected career practicing law, taking pride not only in his professional accomplishments but in his ability to truly help people. He was known as a rule follower who valued doing things the right way, yet he balanced that with a wonderful sense of humor and an easy charm that could light up any room. He had a gift for connecting with people, effortlessly making friends wherever he went. He also had a lifelong love of horses, which led him to own, breed, and race thoroughbreds for many years. The beauty and spirit of the animals brought him endless joy, and the world of racing remained one of his greatest pleasures throughout his life. Morris's kindness, wit, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Services at Workmen's Circle Cemetery, 6842 German Hill Road, Baltimore, Maryland 21222, on Monday, November 10th, 2025, at 11:00 am. Please omit flowers. Contributions in his memory may be sent to Maryland Horse Rescue, P.O. Box 1997, Westminster, MD 21158. The family will be receiving at North Oaks, 725 Mt. Wilson Lane, Pikesville, MD 21208, immediately following interment.
