Paul M. Esker (61) of Riva, MD passed away on Tuesday, 6 Dec. 2022 after a fight with cancer. His final days were comforted by family and numerous friends. Born in Baltimore to Eugene and Rita Esker on Aug. 2, 1961, he graduated from West Virginia University. Paul was a Senior Staff Engineer with 38 years of R&D experience advancing RF and microwave technology at Westinghouse and Northrop Grumman.

Sailing was Paul's passion, in the Chesapeake Bay and on Atlantic voyages. His expertise in navigation and helmsmanship was well known at the Eastport Yacht Club, and in the racing and cruising community.

Paul is survived by seven brothers and sisters, Fr. Karl Esker CSsR, Karen Dickhaut, Linda Esker, Erick Esker, Elaine Reed, Francine Glavy and John Esker, and his former wife Donna Esker (Carter), their daughter Savonna Atkins and grandchildren Rita and Colby Atkins.

A memorial service is planned at St. Mary's Parish in Annapolis. Donations can be made to the Eastport Yacht Club Foundation (eycfoundation.org) or the Cancer Research Institute (give.cancerresearch.org).
