Paul Lehnerd Obituary

On October 9, 2021 the Darlington community lost part of its soul with the death of Paul E. Lehnerd. Paul was the beloved husband of Melinda Sue Lehnerd for 41 years.

He was born on January 22, 1960 in Washington, DC and adopted by his parents Alvin P. Lehnerd and Jean Ann Lehnerd.

He was predeceased by his parents and sister Rosemary Lehnerd.

Paul is survived by his wife Melinda Sue Lehnerd; sons Josh Mauldin and Phillip Lehnerd; Stepsons Bill Reese and John Reese. Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. Siblings David Lehnerd, Susan Lehnerd, John Lehnerd and Kate Barton.

Paul attended St. Patrick's Elementary School, Bel Air Middle School and The John Carroll School. He bravely battled a learning disability throughout his life and overcame it to become a successful Plumber, Electrician, and Mechanic.

An industrial accident forced him to retire in 2011, but he continued to contribute to his family, friends, and community by always volunteering to assist and help out when needed. His final noble act was by donating his body to science, through the State Anatomy Board, so that he could help his community one last time.

An all day memorial will be held at his home Saturday, November 13 for family and friends to say farewell. The door will be open to just pop in, or stay as long as you like. The time will be from 10 am until 5 pm.
