Paul Martin Obituary

Paul James Martin of Bel Air died on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at his home in Creswell. Born in Ashe County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late William M. and Opal Mary (Price) Martin; and husband of the late Eleanor Hamby Martin.

Mr. Martin had retired from Fort George G. Meade after 41 years of service as Chief of Public Works with the Army Corps of Engineers. Following his retirement, he enjoyed spending time in Ocean City.

He was a resident of Harford County for more than 80 years and a longtime member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.

Mr. Martin is survived by a daughter, Joan M. Sullivan; grandchildren Marianne Lisa Testerman (Lester), Amy K. Sullivan (Domonic Raimondo), Cara M. Chell (Michael), Patrick L. Sullivan, Jr., and Andrew T. Sullivan; great-grandchildren Corey T. Hierstetter (Amanda), James A. Testerman, Paul A. Raimondo, Chloe E. Chell, and Silas B. Chell; and a great-great-granddaughter, Meadow M. Hierstetter.

He was predeceased by his son David Paul Martin and brothers, Edward, Ralph and Ray.

Visitation was held on Monday, November 24th at McComas Family Funeral Homes, Abingdon. A Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, November 25th at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, followed by interment at the church cemetery.
