Paul R. ZIEGLER M.D.

ZIEGLER, M.D. , Paul R. Paul Randall Ziegler M.D. passed away at the age of 98 on February 23, 2013 after a courageous battle with heart disease. Born on December 30, 1914 in Baltimore, MD, he was active and alert until the end. He started computer classes at the age of 95. Dr. Ziegler was a graduate of the University of Maryland Medical School, where he was a member of the Rush Medical Society. He practiced internal medicine in Baltimore and Ellicott City. He served as an Army Surgeon during WWII and was President of the Howard County Medical Society. He is survived by his son Paul Ziegler, Jr. (Cheryl), his daughter Ellen Florio (Dr. Richard), grandchildren Kathie Kirkland (Jeff) Mark Babbage (Kristie), Sam Florio (Denise), Sean Florio (Dara), Christopher Florio (Katie), Alexandra Ziegler, seven great-grandchilden, two great-great-grandchildren; and his sister Annabelle Reichel (Elmer). He is predeceased by his wife Margaret (Butler); daughter Patricia Ziegler; brother Charles Ziegler; and sister Regina Mallonee.
Visitation will be on Friday March 1st, 2013 from 6pm to 8pm. Memorial service on Saturday March 2nd, 2013 at 10 AM, both at Witzke's Funeral Home located at 4112 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City. Arrangements by Crosby-N. Gray & Co., Burlingame, CA 650-342-6617.
