Robert James Brown

Robert James Brown, 78, of Catonsville, MD. formerly of Arbutus, MD and Pasadena, MD. died March 11, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born February 11,1945, in Baltimore and was the son of the late Charles (Ray) Brown and Mary Jean (MIller) Brown. He was also the son-in-law of the late John E. Firth and the late Virginia (Blumenfeld) Firth and father-in-law to the late David R. Burns. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pamela (Firth) Brown and daughters Jennifer (Brian) Mitarotonda (Brambleton, VA) and Tracey Burns (Perry Hall, MD) and grandsons Zachary Mitarotonda, Aiden Mitarotonda and Collin Burns. He is also survived by three sisters and three brothers: Dot (Craig) Ziegler of Conway,SC, Jay (Bill) Copper of Aynor,SC, Kathy (Mike) Heilman of Conway,SC, John (Sue) Brown of Elkridge, MD, Chuck (Tracy) Brown of Lone Tree, CO and Chris (Kim)Brown of Relay, MD. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Karen (Gil) Morris of N. Myrtle Beach, SC and 18 nieces and nephews.

Robert graduated from Mount Saint Joseph High School (Baltimore) in1963 and from the University of Baltimore in 1969. After graduating college he worked most of his professional career in equipment leasing and financing. After retiring, he missed working and started his own small consulting business Prime Capital LLC where he consulted with federal government contractors to assist them in finding business financing.

Besides enjoying fishing and golf, his greatest joy was spending time with his grandsons.

A memorial service will be held at St. Augustine Church, 5976 Old Washington Blvd, Elkridge, MD 21075 on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 10am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Brain Tumor Society (braintumor.org) or the American Heart Association (heart.org).
