I worked with Robert at the Miami VA. He was a renissance man having varied interests outside of his profession such as music, art, literature and sports. I will remember his great smile and the good times when we went to baseball games to watch his Baltimore O's play or my red soxs.
I was shocked to hear of his passing at such a young age.

I am so sad to learn of Rob’s death. We were coworkers at the Phila VAMC in the 90’ s and he was a harbor of friendship to me in a place that wasn’t always very friendly. Even back then, he was an exceptionally caring physician who would give some of his sickest patients his personal phone number.
I haven’t been in contact with him since leaving the VA but I always remembered him with great fondness. It just goes to show what an impact his friendship had on me and I’m sure has had on others that he’s worked along side over the years.
What a loss to the medical community and the world so in need of true healers.
To his sister, Susan, who he spoke of often, you have my deepest sympathy.

I was shocked to hear of Dr. Kaisers passing. I will be forever grateful to have had the opportunity to work along side him while working in the HBPC program in South Carolina. I was always amazed at his kindness and compassionate treatment of his patients. He was a kind and gentle soul. May you Rest In Peace Rob! I will miss our emails!

Robert was a true friend, a wonderful colleague, and a caring physician and teacher. I will always remember his sweet and mischievous smile, and his enthusiasm for interesting conversation about all things: medicine, politics, books, and art. His interests were vast, but he cared most about people and especially his patients. I am so sad to hear this news. Condolences and much love to Susan, who Robert spoke so much about. He will be missed by so many.

We were shocked and saddened to learn of Robs passing. He was such an exemplary geriatrician and compassionate to his core. Dr. Rob was so kind and thoughtful with our three boys when they were growing up. I was so happy to get to see him last year in Portland at the AGS meeting. We will miss him.

Robert was a gentle soul, an astute thinker, a dedicated physician, an unparalleled son to his parents and beautifully devoted brother to Susan. For me, he was an old-school friend who cherished in-person meetings wherever possible; phone calls were better than texts; social media not so much. We werent always in as close touch as would be ideal, but he has been there when it counted. He was a loyal friend for 50 years. (He and I were the only two new kids in 6th grade.) Always a gentleman, he was taken far too soon. There are not many like him. Rest his soul.
