Samuel Eades Obituary

EADES II, Samuel B. On November 23, 2005, SAMMY suddenly died of a heart attack at home. He was the beloved son of Minerva Eades, devoted and loved older brother of Sandy and loved cousin of Lynn Foy. While a teenager, he worked various jobs to help support his family. As an adult, his work career included positions at Bethlehem Steel, the Pentagon, Goddard and the Agricultural Department. Always a dedicated and hard worker, he earned certificates of commendation and even bonuses for excellent job performance. He served valiantly on a Navy mine finder during the Vietnam War. Believing freedom carries the responsibility to defend it, he served as a Naval Reservist for over twenty years. Sam was an avid reader with keen recall. This enabled him to converse about many varied topics. The last book he started was A Table in the Presence by Lt. Carey about Marines in Iraq. His collegian studies were at Essex Community College and The Johns Hopkins University. He always felt it important to take time to talk with and encourage others. Though he had a shy and quiet demeanor, he frequently joked with others to lighten their moment and bring a smile to their face. His sudden death will leave a void impossible to fill. At his relatively young age, God called him home. Currently he resides with the Lord for as John 6:47 promises, "most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life." This promise, not based on human perfection nor special works, is simply based on faith alone. Family will receive friends at the family owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 York Road (beltway exit 26A) On Monday 3 to 7 P.M. Funeral service will be held at Valley Presbyterian Church, 2200 W. Joppa Road on Tuesday, November 29 at 1 P.M. Mr. Eades will lie in state from 12:30 to 1 P.M. Interment in Highview Memorial Park Cemetery, Bel Air, MD. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the American Heart Association or Valley Presbyterian Church on Joppa Road.

Dear Sandra,

Barbara Martin High told me about Sam's passing and I am truly sorry for your loss. We are at the age when our family losses are coming too often now.

I did want to say that Sam's obituary was one of the nicest and most loving I've ever read.

Our hearts go out to you,

Doris and Ray Tobias

Sandra,

I am Lynn Foy's friend and I met you and Sammy on an earlier visit. I'm so glad that the two of you visited Lynn recently, and that that is part of your memory bank.

My condolences and love to you,

Lisa
