Stephen F. Curran Ph.D.

On July 4, 2024, Dr. Steve Curran, 74, died after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Dr. Curran is survived by Roseann (Ro) Maher Curran, his wife of 50 years. He is survived by his children, Brendan Curran (MAJ-Retired, US Army) and his spouse Dr. Carrie Arnold, Bridget de Leon and her spouse Joe de Leon, and Mary Claire Curran. He is survived by his three grandchildren, Alice, Dorothea (Thea) and Colin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. Dr. Curran was predeceased by his parents, Raymond J. Curran, Sr. and Virginia Curran. Dr. Curran graduated from Towson Catholic High, Mount Saint Mary's University and graduated with degrees from Loyola University (Baltimore) and the University of Maryland. He was a Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia licensed psychologist at the time of his death. Dr. Curran's career was primarily providing services within occupational medicine/behavioral health and within that field, police and public safety psychological services. His personal interests were enjoying time with his grandchildren, cheering for the Orioles and Ravens, and being at the beach. Dr. Curran was especially proud of his Irish ancestry and was a past-President of the St. Brendan's Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Friends may call at the family owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home, 1050 York Road (Beltway Exit 26) on Friday, August 2nd, 2024, from 2 - 4 PM and 6 - 8 PM. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Church of the Nativity in Timonium, Maryland. Private Interment will occur at Mount Saint Mary's University Cemetery in Emmitsburg, Maryland at a later date.
