Susan McDonald Obituary

Susan G. McDonald, loving mother, grandmother, wife, sister, dear friend and animal lover, died February 13th, the birthday of her deceased son, Eddie Russell. An accomplished gardener, Susie was very active with Ladew Topiary Gardens in Monkton, MD. Susie was also a great lover of horses, as her Move Up Stables' Swayo twice won the Maryland Hunt Cup. Born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in California (Pasadena and La Jolla), Susie was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert B. Russell. She is survived by her husband Jim McDonald of Ruxton, MD, sister Mary Armour and brother-in-law Dan of Wilson, WY, son Craig Russell and daughter-in-law Nancy of Santa Rosa, CA, son Robert Russell and daughter-in-law Alejandra of Chapel Hill, NC, daughter Holly Westling and son-in-law Craig of Pittsfield, VT, daughter-in-law Luz Russell of Boulder, CO, and nine grandchildren. Gifts in memory of Susie can be made to the nonprofit (501c3) Maryland Therapeutic Riding (1141 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville, MD 21032 website: horsesthatheal.org).
