Thomas Hankus Obituary

On December 5, 2021, Thomas Marion Hankus passed away peacefully at home; beloved husband of Deborah E. Hankus; devoted father of Alyssa M. Hankus, Mikella E. Farrell and her husband Matthew; cherished grandfather of Connor, Aengus and Sullivan Farrell; dear brother of Martin Hankus and his wife Sandra and Nancy Steve. He is preceded in death by his brother Gerald Hankus, and his parents John and Jeanette Hankus. Thomas was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 14, 1947. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising from Michigan State, and then earned his Master of Business degree from the University of Boston. Thomas had a distinguished career in the Air Force and the civil service for the Army and Navy. He concluded his career as Master Sergeant in the Air force in Del Rio, Texas and in public affairs at the Pentagon, in Washington D.C. from 2001-2011 as a civil servant, and a dedicated member of the American Legion.

A private military service will be held at Crownsville National Cemetery.

Donations may be made in his name to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org.
