Velma Treva Carroll Anderson

Velma Treva Carroll Anderson, 97, of 46 Woodcrest Drive, Elkin, Maryland, 21921, passed away Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023 at Calvert Manor Nursing Home in Rising Sun, Maryland. She was born July 27, 1925 to the late Virgil Grady Carroll and Onnie (Ona) Alberta Williams Carroll (Boone, NC).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Stuart Colfax Carroll and Zora Greene Carroll, John Wesley Williams and Sallie Moretz Williams; four sisters, Violet Mae Carroll Hayes, Vera Opal Carroll Moretz, infant Edith Pauline Carroll and Eva Alberta Carroll Keller; three brothers, Vaughn Herbert Carroll, Roy Forest (Peck) Carroll and Grady Olen (Buddy) Carroll; and former husband, Harry Edward Anderson.

She is survived by one son, Carroll Edward Anderson; grandson, Ryan Edward Anderson; step grandson, Michael McDonald of Townsend, Delaware; sisters, Zora Marie Carroll Moretz (Ernest) of Taylorsville, NC and Dorothy Jean Carroll Williams of Bel Air, MD; brother, Stanley Bruce Carroll (Beverly) of Boone, NC; sisters-in-law, Mary Nell Carroll of Lenoir, NC, and Vickie Carroll of Boone, NC; her loving great granddog, Ana; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a member of the Baptist faith and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Bel Air, Maryland. Mrs. Anderson worked for the government as a computer programmer in Edgewood Maryland for approximately 30 years until she retired in 1991.

Visitation will be held under the caring guidance of the family owned and operated McComas Family Funeral Home, Bel Air, Maryland on Thursday, April 13, 2023, from 11 am-12 pm with a service to follow at 12 pm. Interment will take place in Bel Air Memorial Gardens.
