Leonard Vinson Obituary

Leonard Paul Revere Vinson was born on December 23,1967 in Philadelphia PA. He was the son of the late Elizabeth Weaver and Paul Revere Vinson. The family moved to Willingboro New Jersey in 1969, where he attended Saint Mary's in Burlington and the Willingboro public School system.

After his schooling and receiving his Diploma in 1985, Leonard enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1986 and decided on an MOS of Combat Engineer. While this allowed him to travel and experience many places such as Texas and Germany, he decided to return home after his tour of duty back to New Jersey in 1988.

After returning home he reunited with longtime friend Linda Grey (who later became his 1st wife), of Philadelphia PA. He resided in PA until after her death in 1995. After which he returned to New Jersey and resided in Glassboro with our mother and family. While working in the U.S. Postal Service in Voorhees NJ, he met Karen C, who became his 2nd wife.

Leonard thrived and lived to Help others rather he knew you or not. Always willing to lend a helping hand. This shined through in every aspect of his life from working Security at Woodrow Wilson High and Cooper Hospital to a Direct Support professional at various group homes in Camden County. He enjoyed cooking and especially baking his Peanut butter cakes. He was a dedicated member, Van driver and choir Member at Friendship Baptist church in Camden NJ. Later in life he joined Saint Paul's Missionary Baptist church where he continued to transport and greet their members along with singing in the choir and assisting in various community outreach services; Cold Blue (feeding the homeless in extreme weather conditions). His infectious Smile and Voice gave comfort to all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by Elizabeth Weaver Mother and Paul R. Vinson Father; His Wives Linda and Karen; Aunts Lillian, Evelyn and Juanita; Uncle Haywood; Brother In-Law Jean-Alix and several close cousins.

Leonard leaves behind to celebrate his life: Vivian Morris (Aunt) of Willingboro NJ; Sisters Shelly Wimberly of Mount Holy NJ and Jaenell Frederique-Bradley of Raleigh NC; Brother in-laws Eugene and Allen; Nieces - Almira, Naja, Noelle and Layla; Nephew Ameer; Great Nieces Shereena and Cattleya; Great Nephew Antonio; Son Evan; Daughter Tiffany; Grandchildren Sasha, Bryan, Karon and Erica. Along with a host of dear family and friends as he never met a Stanger!

In addition to the above, we have to mention his Close friend and brother Pastor Darwin Ransom and church family at Saint Paul's Missionary Baptist Church where he was a dedicated servant of the Lord.
