Calvin Tramel Obituary

Calvin C. Tramel Battle Creek Calvin Coolidge Tramel, 82, of Battle Creek died September 9, 2009 at Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. He was born August 13, 1927, the son of John F. and Oma Mae (Hicks) Tramel in Liberty, Tennesee. Calvin served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked as a master electrician for Central Electric, Union Electric and RW Leet Electric, retiring in 1992. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Anne (Adams) Tramel in 1992; and his second wife, Joann Bales in 2004; his parents; and sister, Nena Loveland. He is survived by his sons, Stephen (Janet) Tramel and Christopher (Patricia) Tramel all of Battle Creek; grandchildren, Curtis Tramel, Kristen Tramel, both of Battle Creek, Mylissa Baker of Kissimmee, Florida, Chris Lukins of Allegan and Gregory Tramel and Belinda Scott, both of Battle Creek; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brothers, TJ (Ellen) Tramel, John (Gloria) Tramel and Bob (Barbara) Tramel all of Battle Creek, Richard (Kathy) Tramel of Tampa, Florida; and sisters, Louise Perry, Frances (Maurice) Swan, Sue (Fielden) Corbin, all of Battle Creek, Janet Belote of East Leroy and Karen Ryan of Battle Creek. Calvin was a member of IBEW Local 445 for over 65 years and the Masonic Lodge in Climax. He enjoyed gardening, mowing his acreage and watching sports. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8:00 p.m. Today, September 10, 2009 at Shaw Funeral Home. Services will take place 2:30 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2009 at the funeral home. Interment, Morgan Cemetery. Memorial donations may go to Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. The family is being served by Shaw Funeral Home. www.shawfuneralhome.com

My deepest sympathy to the Trammel family. I always enjoyed being around Cal and his family, and I have alot of fond memories playing ball with Chris and Steve at Cal and Martha's home. May God bless all of you.

Grandpa Tramel was a kind, sweet, gentle soul. He will forever hold a spot in my heart. I know he will be with grandma again soon. My condolences to the Tramel family.
