E. Alexander Obituary
Battle Creek
E. Marie Alexander, 93, died March 28, 2015 at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility.
She was born December 1, 1921 in Battle Creek, Michigan, the daughter of Harold and Marie (Russell) Manby.
After graduating from Battle Creek High School, she attended Argubright Business College. She worked at Sears credit department and Great Lakes Bankcorp as a receptionist-teller.
Marie sang in the choir at First Presbyterian Church and was a longtime member of the Community Chorus, and was a member of the Martha Circle and the Sew 'N' Sew's Club. She was active in P.E.O. Chapter CR. She also enjoyed needlework, sewing, and reading and traveling. Her needlework projects were enjoyed by many of her friends and family.
She is survived by her daughters, Jan Lippert of Marysville, Washington, Karen (Keith) Rhoades of Battle Creek and Lynn (Rick) Newcomb of Battle Creek; nine grandchildren and twenty six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James, in 1993; sister Florence Kilty of Arizona and brother Harry A. Manby.
Memorial Service will take place at the First Presbyterian Church at a later date, with Pastor Pat Weatherwax officiating. The family wishes memorial contributions to the First Presbyterian Church or the Parkinson's Foundation.
The family is being served by Shaw Funeral Home.

I will always remember my visits with Marie. We shared so much,laughed about life and all its wonders. She was such a kind and soft spoken woman. Karen you all should be proud of your mother and the wonderful loving family she shared with so many. She has been and will be often in my thoughts.
