Kathleen Ann "Kay" Fletcher Spring Hill, FL Kathleen Ann "Kay" Fletcher, age 85, of Spring Hill, FL, formerly of Battle Creek, died Sunday, October 26, 2008 at Crown Pointe Senior Living Community, Spring Hill, FL. Kay was born on March 5, 1923 in Shelby, MI and was the daughter of Leslie and Donna (Demmon) Griffin. She was a 1941 graduate of Shelby High School. Kay moved to Battle Creek in 1943 from Shelby, to Inverness, FL in 2006 and to Spring Hill, FL in 2008. Kay was employed at Percy Jones General Hospital, Holmes Ford Company and retired in 1988 from the Battle Creek Public Schools-Accounting Department after 27 years of faithful service. She was also the first female administrator for the school system. Kay was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Battle Creek; the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for over 50 years; the Calhoun County and the State of Michigan-Retired School Personnel; and the Battle Creek American Legion Post #54. In July of 1946, Kay was united in marriage to Jack Forrest Fletcher, who preceded her in death on August 24, 1981. Surviving are three sons: William D. (Mary Jane) Fletcher of West Palm Beach, FL; Eric T. (Mary) Fletcher of Battle Creek and Craig E. Fletcher and Judy Fahley, special friend of the family and a very, dear friend to Mom, of Inverness, FL; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Kay was preceded in death by her parents and a brother: Doug Griffin. At the request of the family, the graveside service to celebrate Kay's life will be held on Monday, November 3rd at 1:00 p.m. at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Chapel, Emmett Township, with the Rev. James D. Hill, of Gull Lake, officiating. Friends may call from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Kay's honor may be made to the Hospice of Hernando-Pasco Counties-FL, 689 South Broad Street, Brooksville, FL 34601.
