Ruth Faye Gamble

Battle Creek

Ruth Faye Gamble, age 97, passed away, Saturday, May 31, 2014. She was born September 6, 1916 in Jay County, Indiana, the daughter of Milton and Lovina (Oxley) Wise.  She married Harold Roe in 1933. They farmed in the Fulton area for many years and later lived in Athens, Michigan. Harold passed away in 1992. In 1999 she married Edward Gamble and lived in Battle Creek for the duration of their loving marriage.

Surviving is her son, Ron Roe, his wife Sharon Roe of Troy;  grandson David Roe, his wife Natalie, and great grandson Clayton  Roe; Also surviving are grandsons Jesse Roe and Richard Roe; and granddaughter Kimberly Roe; her sister, Fern Homoki of Kalamazoo and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by Edward Gamble January 2014.

The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday at Wakeshma Community Church with Rev. David P. Mackaluso officiating. Interment will follow at North Fulton Cemetery. www.henryfuneralhome.org

Ruth will always be remembered in our hearts as a kind and gentle neighbor. It was a pleasure to bring baked goods to Ruth and Ed. They were so appreciative of the smallest gesture. We will miss their friendship!
