William "Bill" Lewis Bennett, 56, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 9, 1959, the son of Richard Lewis Bennett and Anna Elizabeth (Bailey) Arnold.
Bill graduated from Springfield High School in 1978 and earned his Bachelor's Degree from Spring Arbor University. He spent his entire professional career working for Eaton Corporation. He was there for 37 years from January 1979 until his retirement in April of 2016
Bill is survived by his wife of 36 years Carol (Kerr) Bennett; three sons, Brooks (Jill) Bennett, Brennan (Allison) Bennett, and Brayden Bennett; daughter, Brandii Bowers; four grandchildren, Davie Bowers, Luke, Emma, and Linley Bennett; brother, Richard (Julie) Bennett of Alpine, TX; sister, Theresa (Buddy) Cameron of Crossett, AR and his best friend, Nandu Srinivasan. He was preceded in death by his father, step-father, and grandparents.
Bill enjoyed golfing, collecting sports memorabilia, and spending time on the lake fishing. He adored his grandchildren, they brought him his greatest joy and he loved to spend his extra time with them. He took an annual golf trip with his friends, they were known as the B.O.S. Bill was baptized at First Wesleyan Church and enjoyed attending.
Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Wednesday April 20, 2016 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A funeral service will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service on Thursday, April 21, 2016, at 12:30 pm with Pastor Robert Zuhl of First Wesleyan Church officiating.
Interment will take place in the Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Bill and I were friends and team mates at Springfield High School. Even then I knew he would do great things with his life and he did. My most heartfelt condolences to his wife Carol, and his children and grand children. Bill you will remain forever in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved you. Bill hired into Eaton BC exactly when I did. He was the last one to come to my cubicle to wish me well upon my retirement from Eaton Galesburg in 2013. What a bright spirit Bill was! My memories of Bill go way back, but I knew him to be good and gracious and a leader. He was the luckiest guy in the World to be married to Carol (Kerr) bennett. I was hoping to catch up with him at a reunion or chance meeting! What a loss to his family, friends as well as to his community! I will always cherish the memory of him as well as the time he saved me and LouAnn Kerr from her brothers when they pinned us down with BB guns behind a Burning Barrel. He let them have it! I will always look up to him and the memory and example he set! Peace Bill!
