Fredrick Stufflebeam Obituary

Frederick "Fred" Daniel Stufflebeam of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away June 5, 2025, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 94.

Born on Aug. 7, 1930, in Holden, Missouri, Fred lived a life devoted to family, service, and community.

As a retired veteran of the U.S. Navy, Fred served his country with honor and distinction. After his naval service, he became a member of law enforcement and continued his post service career as a correctional officer for the State of Nevada, a position he held until he permanently retired and moved to Mountain Home in 1988.

Fred was active in many civic groups such as; the Fleet Reserve Association, the American Legion, the Amateur Radio Relay League, the Retired Enlisted Association, Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and the AFSCME Retirees, Nevada Chapter.

He was also a staunch Republican and never shirked his responsibility to vote. He was a ferocious reader and especially liked Baby Blues and Snoopy. He enjoyed Suduko, cryptograms and bowling. Fred's calling was ham radio and computers.

After his wife of 17 years passed, eventually he began a new life with Ursula, who was a co-worker. This union lasted 42 years. A devoted husband and father, Fred is survived by Ursula; his children, Crystal, Gordon and Scott; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Ula-Mae; brother Richard; sisters Virginia and Ruby; daughter Pam; and wife Betty.

A Graveside Service for Fred will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025, (Fred's 95th birthday) at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum Open-Air Chapel, with the Rev. Jami Scott and Chaplain David Butts officiating.

Military Honors will be provided by the Alley-White American Legion Post 52 and United States Navy Honor Guards. "The family invites friends to join them immediately following the graveside service, for a traditional Two Bell ceremony, for our departed shipmate at the American Legion Hall in Mountain Home."

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to be made to the Veterans Pantry, in care of the Alley-White American Legion Post 52, 717 Market St, Mountain Home, Arkansas, 72653.
