Gail Chamberlain Obituary

Gail Vonne Chamberlain, 87, of Cotter, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at her residence in Cotter.

She was born on January 21, 1938, in Fresno, California, to Richard and Helen (Dunnicliff) Byington. Gail worked as a cook at many different restaurants and cafes. She enjoyed Word Search books, bowling and especially going to casinos. In her later years, she could be found on her porch watching birds and animal life.

Her greatest joy and treasure was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Gail brought her children up right and was always there for her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Helen Byington; one infant son, Richard; one brother, Richard Lyle Byington; and one sister, Gina Marie Byington.

Gail is survived by five children, Virginia Lin Thorgesen, Bryan Eugene (Shirley K.) Tumbleson, Nathan Craig (Rachel) Tumbleson, Duane William McConnell and Pamela Elizabeth (Steven) McCool; 13 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and one sister, Linda Jane Johnson.

A memorial celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
