Iva Painter Obituary

Iva Charlotte Painter, 58, of Cabot, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on Oct. 1, 2025, in Searcy, Arkansas, just two days shy of her 59th birthday.

Charlotte was born on Oct. 3, 1966, in Yellville, Arkansas, to Eldawan "Sug" Wagoner and Beverly Sue Smith. As a proud graduate of Flippin High School's Class of 1985, she was a talented and devoted basketball player. Out of school, she was found at the rodeos. She especially loved barrel racing and team roping.

From an early age, Charlotte lived with a fierce and enthusiastic spirit -a woman who was always on the go, always up for a challenge and always ready with a quick-witted remark. Whether she was watching football as a beloved Pittsburg Steelers fan (or splitting her loyalty between the Razorbacks and the Longhorns for the sake of her two sons), dancing the two-step in Texas honky-tonks or relaxing with her toes in the sand on a sunny beach, Charlotte truly embraced life.

She was a devoted mother who worked tirelessly to raise her two boys on her own - Stetson and Weston - and they remained the center of her world. But perhaps her most cherished title was "Gram Gram." Her granddaughter, Audra, brought her unmatched joy, and their special memories, like their special place at Chuck E. Cheese, were treasures to Charlotte's heart.

Charlotte loved to travel, exploring several countries across Europe and Asia, and never passed up a chance to try something new. She was a true foodie, always eager to gather around the table with family. She had a soft heart for animals, quietly giving to local shelters and never missed a chance to love on her loyal dog, Gunner.

She was dedicated to her work and carried herself with pride. But no matter where she was going, Charlotte never left home without her signature hair - "The Do" - perfectly styled. She held on to that '80s hair, and it held firm to her. Her style was as bold and memorable as her laugh.

She was a lifelong Elvis Presley fan. She also had a soft spot for George Strait, Fleetwood Mac, Journey and classic country. Autumn was her favorite season, and she dreamed one day of living in New York City among the fall leaves and bright lights.

Charlotte is survived by her sons, Stetson (Kaleigh) Painter of Mountain Home and Weston (Alexis) Herst of Rose Bud; her beloved granddaughter, Audra Painter; her brother, Cameron (Tisha) Wagoner, and sister Trenia Smith, both of Texas; lots of cousins; several nieces and nephews; and her faithful companion, her dog Gunner.

She is preceded in death by her father, Eldawan "Sug" Wagoner, and her bonus-father, David "Big Guy" Smith; her paternal grandparents, Ward Owen and Lorene Mildred (Freeman) Wagoner; her maternal grandparents, Burl Franklin and Iva Mae (Scott) Mitchell.

A visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 13, 2025, at Roller-Burns Funeral Home in Yellville, Arkansas, with funeral services beginning at 2 p.m. officiated by Johnathan Herst.

Charlotte leaves behind a legacy of strength, laughter, love and unforgettable memories. She is deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

This is such a shock!! A very bright light has gone dark. This world has lost a very special, sweet, funny, caring, fun loving and compassionate lady. Heaven will be a little brighter. Her pride and joy was her family. A single mother that raised two boys into GREAT men. Charlotte put her all into every and anything she did. I was and am very lucky to call her my friend. Comfort comes with her not being in pain and she´s with her daddy and other family members.
