Margaret Hennike Obituary

Margaret Ellen Hennike

Long-time resident of Lakeview, Bull Shoals and Mountain Home, Arkansas (1965-1994) passed away on March 4, 2021, in Rockville, Maryland, just outside Washington, DC. Margaret was 93. Margaret's fondest memories were of her time in Arkansas, especially her time with friends and family at the White River and Bull Shoals Lake. During her time in the Mountain Home area, Margaret was an active member with the Twin Lakes Republican Women and Citizens for Clean Water. She was a licensed real estate agent and regularly attended the Mountain Home First Church of Christ Scientist. Margaret was a shrewd businesswoman and a staunch defender of equal rights for women in business. She built a house on her own in Phoenix, AZ and bought and remodeled numerous houses over the years in Phoenix and in Baxter and Marion counties and subdivide land for homes in the Twin Lakes area.

She is survived by her daughter, Toni Hennike, son-in-law, Pat Spillman, Jr., granddaughter, Hannaka Spillman, step-daughter Vian Hennike-Hawkins and Vian's son, Jason Hawkins. She is also survived by numerous beloved nieces and nephews and cousins.

Margaret was born in West Point, MS and in her youth lived in Tennessee, Kentucky, Florida, Ohio. She moved to Phoenix, AZ in her twenties, before moving to Arkansas. After leaving Mountain Home, Margaret lived in Dallas, TX, Perth, Western Australia and Houston, TX. She loved to travel and see the world.
