Martha Woesch Obituary

Martha Anne Woesch, 69

Martha Anne Woesch, formerly of Mountain Home, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving husband and children on April 20th, 2017 at the Hospice House of Kansas City, Missouri. She was 69 years old.

Martha was born on November 5th, 1947 in Grants, New Mexico to the late Manuel and Eva Silva. Martha graduated from Highland High School and then the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico. After graduation, she began her exciting career as a flight attendant for Pan American World Airways being based in Miami, Seattle, New York, and finally San Francisco. After thirteen years of seeing most of the world, she gladly chose to be a stay at home wife and mother.

Martha met her husband, Rick, while they both attended the University of New Mexico. They were married on April 22, 1972 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Martha and Rick began their married life in Elgin, Illinois. Throughout the years, they lived in many different locations throughout the country, responding to various job opportunities. The most significant was the thirteen years they spent raising their five children in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Martha was a devoted wife and mother. After the kids were grown, Martha and Rick worked together for several senior retirement corporations. The two were inseparable during this time: working, traveling, enjoying their time together, and were blessed by caring for seniors.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Eva Silva. She is survived by her husband Rick Woesch, of Overland Park, Kansas; her five children, Anne-Camille Collins of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Tony Woesch (Jennifer) of Longview, Texas, Grace Crownover (Lyle) of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Joey Woesch (Candace) of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Sarah Woesch of Fayetteville, Arkansas; her nine grandchildren Madeline Collins, Kenzie-Lynn Collins, Cortland Collins, Deacon Smith, Connor McCarty, Paige Woesch, Eva Crownover, Layton Joe Crownover, and Estella Crownover; her four siblings, Dave Silva , Gini Silva-Zeikus (Brad), Willie Silva (Vicki), and Tish Silva (Nils); and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

A celebration of Martha's life will be held on Thursday, May 11th at 2:00 in the afternoon at The Church at Mountain Home, 684 Green Valley Drive, Mountain Home, Arkansas. All are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to KU Endowment, 3901 Rainbow Boulevard, Mail Stop 3012, Kansas City, KS 66160, to benefit lung cancer research. Online contributions may be made at www.kuendowment.org/give. Please indicate that donations are for the Martha Woesch memorial.

Martha was not only beautiful in appearance but beautiful from the inside out. She was one of the kindest and sweetest persons that I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. She had a great love for our Lord and without a doubt is now with him for eternity. She will be missed.

It's so sad that Martha had to leave her large family and 9 grandchildren so soon. She enriched many peoples' lives through her nursing home work as well as her great kids and grandkids.
