Myrt Flippin, 86

Myrt Flippin, age 86, of Flippin, Arkansas passed away Monday, November 28, 2016 at Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Myrt was born December 16, 1929 in Three Brothers, Arkansas to the late Fred and Dona (Rife) Pherigo. A lifelong resident of the area she was a housewife, and a member of First Baptist Church in Flippin, Arkansas. She had been a business owner, a seamstress, and a clerk during her lifetime. Her hobbies included yard work, gardening, hand stitch embroidery, sewing, quilting, reading, cooking. She was especially known for caring for and giving unconditional love to others around, and for being a motherly and grandmotherly figure to many.

Mrs. Flippin is survived by her husband of 62 years, James, of the home; four sisters: Iva Mae Fitzpatrick of Eden, Idaho; Frida Belcher and her husband, Robert, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Margie Lewis and her husband, Truman, of Clarkridge, Arkansas; Helen Howell of Twin Falls, Idaho; two brothers: Otttis Pherigo and his wife Linda, of Burley, Idaho; Paul Pherigo and his wife, Linda, of Meriden, Idaho; numerous nieces and nephews and many great and great-great nieces and nephews, including: Marcus Flippin and his wife, Gail; Erica Morris and her husband, Donald; Megan Gibson and her husband, Skylor; Lindsey Campbell and her husband, Jeremy; great-great nephews: Marcus Morris, Lucas Gibson, Oliver Campbell and Ethan Campbell; niece Helen Parks and her husband, Eddie, of Clarkridge, Arkansas; two great nephews Bo Parks and his wife, Allison; Adam Parks and his wife, Meagan, and their children; niece Marsha Massey and her husband, John, of Flippin, Arkansas; two great-nieces: Casey Massey; Courtney Smith and her husband, Steve; great-great nephew Owen Smith; loving friend Jo Hammons of Harrison, Arkansas; many friends and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Bobby Dean Pherigo, William Thomas "Tommy" Pherigo, and an infant brother.

Visitation for Myrt Flippin will be Wednesday, November 30, 2016 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Roller-Burns Funeral Home in Yellville, Arkansas.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Thursday, December 1, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Flippin, Arkansas with Bro. Steve Martin officiating.

Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery near Flippin, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be Skylor Gibson, Lucas Gibson, Donald Morris, Marcus Morris, John Bidwell, Curly McCracken, and Max Wilkins.

Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Parks, Jeremy Campbell, John Massey, Steve Smith, Talon Vancuren, and Forrest Wood.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Flippin; to Fairview Cemetery; or to Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.
