1935 - 2025

Peter Joseph Raino Jr,. 90, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2025.

He was born on Feb. 23, 1935, in Joliet, Illinois, to Peter and Jennie (Ditelo) Raino. Peter spent most of his life in Joliet, except for two years in the U.S. Navy. He was married to his first wife, Judith, until her death in 2009.

Peter moved to Mountain Home in 1994 after retiring from the U.S. Post Office as manager of customer service. He loved living in Arkansas and enjoyed time on the water in his pontoon boat, woodcarving, going on bus trips to the casinos, golfing at Twin Lakes Golf Club and later at Big Creek. He went to many shows in Branson and also Silver Dollar City. For something to do, he had part time jobs at McDonald's and became a greeter at Walmart when the Supercenter opened. He was a member of the Elks Club.

Peter and Jeanette Scott were joined together in Holy Matrimony at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church on Oct. 6, 2012. They spent 13 happy years together and enjoyed each other's companionship very much. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Jeanette; special friends Jim Szpicki, John Waters, Jim Williams and all who loved him.

He had a unique personality that was fun, bold and honest.

Peter is survived by his loving wife, Jeanette of Mountain Home; son Daniel Raino of Joliet, Illinois; son David Raino of Mountain Home, Arkansas; and stepdaughter Mary Ellen Guthrie-Scott of Eugene, Oregon.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 17 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, with Father Norbert Rappold officiating.
