Tillman Adkins Obituary
Tillman was born Jan. 3, 1944, to Tillman Arthur and Easter Lilly (Putney) Adkins.
He was a member of Rotary Club, Twin Lakes Playhouse and Rock Steady Boxing. Tillman was a long-time member of the Good Shepherd Methodist Church in Cotter, Arkansas.
Tillman spent his early years in Michigan before moving to Arkansas in 1969 with his first three sons and his first wife. His fourth son was born in Mountain Home. Tillman's career included auto plant worker, well driller, home builder, rock layer, muffler shop owner, insurance agent, construction company management and construction company owner. Later, he remarried his current wife, Sue and helped raise her two sons, Ben and Jacob.
Tillman was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Kenneth Drew Adkins and Kerry Douglas Adkins and two sons, Guy Michael Adkins and Shawn Anthony Adkins.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Adkins of Mountain Home; two sons, Tillman Randall (Betty) Adkins of St. Joe, Arkansas and Mark Dewain (Angie) Adkins of Jonesboro, Arkansas; two stepsons, Ben DeAtley of Gassville, Arkansas and Jacob DeAtley of Mountain Home Arkansas; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; one brother, Arthur Dwight Adkins of Montrose, Michigan and two sisters, Valerie Kay Izzo of Clio, Michigan and Vanessa Martin of Kokomo, Indiana.
Funeral will be held on Monday, Aug. 5, 2024, at 10 a.m. at the Good Shepherd Methodist Church in Cotter, Arkansas, with the family receiving friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time.
Burial will take place at 3 p.m. that afternoon at Mount Pisgah Cemetery in Letona, White County, Arkansas.
