Velma Whitfield Obituary

Velma L. Whitfield of Norfork, Arkansas, passed away Jan. 4, 2023, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, at the age of 85.

Velma was born on Nov. 1, 1937, in Norfork, Arkansas, to Joe and Callie Sisk. She married Ray Jack Whitfield on Nov. 23, 1954, in Norfork, Arkansas. Velma was a beloved member of the Norfork community.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ray Jack Whitfield; one son, Steve Whitfield; eight brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Joe (Amy) Whitfield of Glencoe, Arkansas and Quincy (Grace) Whitfield of Spring Hill, Florida; three daughters, Jackie (Everett) Meis of Norfork, Arkansas, Lisa (Bruce) Sanders of Flippin, Arkansas and Angela (Joseph) Grasse of Omaha, Nebraska; one sister, Eddie Mae Alexander; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023, at Roller Funeral Home, with a graveside service at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023, at Galatia Cemetery in Norfork, Arkansas with Bro. Tom Stover officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks or Riverlodge Assisted Living.
