Betty Elaine Thomas, 93, passed away on April 25, 2014, in Pearland, Texas. She was born May 23, 1920 in Carpenter, South Dakota. Elaine moved to Texas at an early age and on October 28, 1938, married the love of her life, Fred B. Thomas. Elaine and Fred had four children; Dell, twins Lynette and Jeanette, and Fred Jr. Fred and Elaine lived in Houston, Texas, and Elaine worked for Gibraltar Savings and Loan from 1959 until she retired as Assistant Vice President in 1986. She was loved by all who knew her and spent her life helping and nurturing not only her family but strangers as well. She was truly and angel and God's Messenger here on earth; she touched many lives and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Jeanette; husband, Fred Sr.; daughter, Lynette Goodman; and granddaughter, Kathy Goodman.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Dell Reed of Friendswood, Texas; son, Fred Thomas Jr. and wife Babs of Georgetown, Texas; son-in-law, David Goodman of Porter, Texas, 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. with the funeral service following at 2:00 P.M. in the Jeter Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 311 N. Friendswood Drive, Friendswood, Texas with Rev. Roger Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, Houston, Texas.
