Our beautiful mother Emma "Jean" Reynolds Lyon departed this life on January 24, 2018. She was one of seven daughters and one son born to Lyda Mosteller and Sylvanis Reynolds of Lincolnton, N.C.
After graduating from Appalachian State Teacher's College, Jean met her husband, the late William Howard Lyon, Jr., and lived in Florida, Georgia (where they married) and Houston before spending the last 50 years in Kemah, Texas where she raised her two sons, Bill and Richard, and two daughters, Mary (Hickey) and Barbara (MacGowan), who survive her.
Jean was a teacher and real estate agent who loved tennis, sailing and biking. She enjoyed trips to Redfish Island on the family's 34-footer, crabbing in the backyard canal, and joining friends for sunset on her golf cart.
She also is survived by her sister Betty Norris; her grandchildren Brett and Kyle Hickey, Parker, Preston and Scotty Lyon, Mandi Radomski, and Ryan MacGowan; and her great grandchildren Tristan and Sylvia Radomski.
Jean, in her passing, was surrounded by her loving children and others who loved and cared for her. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer's Association Houston/Southeast Texas Chapter, 6055 South Loop East, Houston, TX 77087

So sorry just learned of Jeans death. We are former customers when she was selling real estate. She sold us a house on Crownwood Drive in Clear Lake Forest when we arrived in Texas in 1981 after living in Taiwan for 3 years. Also remember your late dad, Bill, one of the nicest and best looking man. Our sympathies to all.

My deepest sympathy to the Lyon family. I hope in time you all find comfort in reading Matthew 5:4 in this time of sorrow.
