Jonathan Barton Obituary
Jonathan Craig Barton, 34, of Clear Lake City, Texas, peacefully passed away in his sleep Sunday morning, August 16, 2015. Jonathan was born September 8, 1980. Jonathan grew up in Clear Lake and quickly became known for his twinkling eyes, mischievous grin, infectious sense of humor and his generous spirit. He attended Utah Valley State College, majoring in General Business. Jonathan had a natural talent in finance and investments and had recently joined Fidelity Investments in The Woodlands as a Financial Specialist, after seven successful years working with the Vanguard Group in Philadelphia. Jonathan is survived by his four parents: Craig (father) and Brenda Barton of Philadelphia and Louise (mother) and Rick Swain of Clear Lake City. Jonathan was fortunate to have ten siblings who were amused (or tormented) by his lively wit and wicked sense of humor. Brothers: Jason (his twin) and Jeremy Barton, Harm Lubben, Brendan and Scott Swain and sisters Stacie and Katie Barton, Colleen and Andrea Swain, and Jennifer Sanders and his beloved canine companion, Rascal He is survived by his grandparents Rodney and Carole Lubben and Catherine Jean Barton.
Jon was actively involved with special needs children and volunteered often at the ARC of Chester County. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Jonathan in honor of his sister, Katie Barton at the ARC of Chester County, 900 Lawrence Drive, West Chester, PA 19380.
A memorial service was held on Friday, August 21 at the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Houston.

Oh, my Johnny-boy, I miss you so much! I seem to be flooded with memories of you. I can clearly picture you as my mischievous toddler with your grey Smurf T-shirt, OshKosh overalls and Kangaroo tennis shoes. You had to have a quarter in the little side zipper. You loved to help with chores. I remember the time you and Jason, at 4 years old, moved the entire wood pile from across the yard to right outside the back door. I have far too many wonderful memories to express in this forum, but I enjoy being your mother and I am so glad I have had the privilege of watching you grow from a feisty infant to such a loving, successful, honorable man. Until we meet again, precious Jonathan! I love you for always! Mom

Jonny, we had plans today dude. I walked your dog, took pictures with him for national dogs day. I still can't believe your gone. You're my brother, a piece of me has always belonged to you. Words can't express this, agony, but I know I'll live to make you proud. I miss you constantly.

Dear Brother Jon,
I miss you more than words can express, we all do. Your life has come and gone all too quickly and we are left here missing you and wishing you were still a part of our daily lives. We are left wondering how this all happened and why you had to leave us so soon.
It seems like it was yesterday we were young kids playing in the backyard, riding bicycles or go-carts around the neighborhoods, and going places with the family, leaning on one another through the challenges of life. Next, we quickly went through our teenage and young adult years doing our best to get together as frequently as occasion would allow us, but also trying to establish our individual identity and figure out how we could best navigate the waters of this earthly existence with the hope of success. The last few years we have all been working hard trying to keep up with the demands of this modern world, occasionally having time to reminisce with one another, with the hope that one of these days we would have the chance of sharing more time together. That time with you has now past bro and it has taught me a hard and sobering lesson about the uncertainty of life, but also thankful for the times we have been able to spend together. I do not know of a group of siblings, cousins included in that group, that are closer than our little crew.
My memories of you will always be of laughter, love, & service to your family and those who had the privilege of being considered your friend. Time with you was special and we all looked forward to it. You regularly had no filter in the things you would say or do, which only you could get away with saying, but left us all with a smile on our face. Now, once possibly embarrassing moments are a flood of happy memories that we will cherish because we can recall you being a part of it.
I have so much more that I want to say to you and talk to you about. Special occasions in the future that I want you to be a part of, which I know you will be, but unfortunately it will be at a distant that causes us to miss you that much more. It is just not the same as having you right here where we can see you, laugh with you, hug you, or even cry with you. You are so missed brother and I look forward with an eye of faith to our great future reunion.
In the meantime, I know that you will be looking out for us and pray that you can be an instrument in the Lord's hands in blessing the lives of your loved ones, especially your brother J-Bird. We will be praying for you and missing you until that great day when we can all be reunited again. Pray for us too!
I love you bro and want you to know how much my little family loves you. This has been a most difficult experience for us, but we are proud of you for the example you set for us this past year as you endured through all the pain associated with your accident, surgery, and the process of recovery. You are a true warrior. Thanks for all you have done to bring good into our lives. Miss you and we will see ya when we get there.
