Lenore E. Nordquist

Lenore, 85, was finally called to Him after a three-year battle against the ailments of age that diminished her body but not her heart, and never her humanity. Born: September 9, 1928 in Chicago, IL to Goldie and Oscar Palmgren, native of Sweden. Survived by her adoring husband Roland, who was her partner, companion and soul-mate through 65 blessed yrs, and her three children and families: daughter Carol of Taylor Lake Village, TX, husband Jim and granddaughters Christa & Sierra; son Rick of Friendswood, TX, wife Jann, granddaughter Kristin & grandson Erik; and son Bob of Glen Cove, NY, wife Barbara and grandsons Alex & Thomas; and the hundreds of friends that she loved and held close. Preceded in death by her parents & brother Raymond.

Lenore was raised in Chicago and was a long time resident of Glenview, IL and then Simsbury, CT. They retired to Port Charlotte, FL and finally moved to League City, TX to be close to their children and grandchildren.

Lenore was one of those rare individuals who achieved success in nearly everything she touched, and touched so many in the process. In all things, though, she was focused on caring for her husband and children. She built a successful beauty salon in Chicago but when her children came along she re-focused on the needs of parenting. Later, Lenore was one of the top realty professionals in CT, sharing her love for the area and the people who lived there. In retirement, she led countless committees to welcome, care and share with others. They came to Texas when her children needed her.

Lenore made the world a warmer, safer, more caring place. For her, it was the small things, everyday acts of love and kindness. She loved being outdoors, whether standing on a ladder in the lake to paint her landmark eagle, hosting backyard luau's and all those pool parties, to sailing the ocean blue. She especially treasured being in her garden, hands in the dirt, beauty rising around her, closer to God. Goodnight my angel, you will be missed.
