Pasadena- Margie Marie Martin (Strokos), age 93, of Pasadena, TX was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on September 30, 2021 at her home. Margie was born to Frank and Teresa Strokos on September 23, 1928. She was 1 of 15 children. Margie was educated in the Highlands school system. Later, she met and married Leonard "Goober" Frank Voytek, after he passed, she met and married Henry Alvin Martin. Leonard. Margie and Leonard had a daughter they named Carolyn, and later they adopted another daughter named Barbara who they claimed as their own. Margie never meet a stranger and if you went into a Whataburger in Pasadena, TX from 1965 to 1999 I am sure you might have seen her. She was always the cheerful one and would run circles around anyone there. She worked up until she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer for a 2nd time due to her having to have Chemo this time around. She was never one to sit still. She wanted to work and do anything she could to keep busy. She was a life-time member of American Legion Post #472 Ladies Auxiliary where she held the role of president and treasurer. She was always the life of any family gathering. She has a passion for playing Bingo with her daughters and grandchildren. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Pasadena.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, 6 brothers, 3 sisters, husbands Leonard "Goober" Frank Voytek & Henry Alvin Martin and daughter Carolyn Scogins
She leaves to cherish her memories siblings Ruth Ann Simon, Richard Strokos, Elizabeth Hegemyer, daughter Barbara Vanderslice, Grand-children William Daniels Jr., Brian (Nicole) Daniels, John L. Vanderslice, Joanne (Eric) Thibodeaux, James Vanderslice, 10 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren, and many other family and friends.
A private cremation is being conducted by J Levy & Termini Funeral Home
A celebration of life is planned for October 23, 2021 2pm @ American Legion Post #472 located at 7599 Ave. C Houston, TX 77012. Please join us for a Pot Luck afterwards bring a food dish of your choice.
