Steven Patterson McCarroll, 68, a longtime resident of Friendswood, TX, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 2, 2016. He was born April 28, 1948 to Kenneth McCarroll and Patricia Patterson McCarroll in Jacksonville, TX.
During his youth, Steven served honorably in the United States Army, enlisting in 1969 and receiving an honorable discharge in 1971. After completing his military service, Steven attended the University of Houston and received a bachelor's degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, in order to fulfill a lifelong interest of working in the hospitality industry.
Later in life, Steven began a successful career in the electronic security systems and fire alarm business, first working for Simplex Systems and ADT, and then eventually founding and operating his own company, 4M Security Systems, in the Friendswood and greater-Houston area. Throughout his life, Steven was also greatly committed to participating in civic activities, being involved in the local chapter of the Rotary Club as well as the Presbyterian Church. To his family and friends, he was known as a very outgoing, thoughtful, and beloved member of the community.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Steven is survived by his son, Kevin McCarroll; his wife of 19 years, Robin McCarroll; his two brothers, Dr. Kerry McCarroll and Scott McCarroll; and many other relatives and cherished friends.
Friends and family are cordially invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at the Jeter Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546 (281) 992-7200.

I think Mike Stapp and Steve are probably sitting around in Heaven with a beer in each hand - at least I hope so!! They were two very special friends and supported each other for many years.
