Virginia Mitchell Obituary

Virginia Sue Leake Mitchell, of League City, passed away on April 20, 2012 in Dickinson, Texas at the age of 77. She was born on November 23, 1934 in Kilgore, Texas to Virgie and Luther Cook. Sue was a devoted wife and mother. She was a Sunday School teacher, and prayer partner in the church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband David Gene Leake, brother Gene Hillin, and her later husband Wayne T. Mitchell. Sue is survived by daughters; Kathryn Porterfield and husband Michael, Elizabeth Oliver and husband Dana, son; John Mark Leake, sister; Candy Hillin, brother; AJ Hillin and wife Cheryl; Grandchildren; David Porterfield and wife Ashleigh, Rachel Porterfield, Justin Porterfield, David Oliver, Katelyn Oliver and many other loving family and friends. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Crowder Funeral Home, 1645 East Main Street, League City, Texas 77573. A Celebration of Her Life will follow at 2:00pm on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Crowder Funeral Home, League City, Texas. Interment will take place at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, Texas. In lieu of flowers, you may send memorials to Seabrook United Methodist Church, C/O Senior Group, 3300 Lakeside Drive, Seabrook, Texas 77586 or Alzheimer's Association 2242 West Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030-2008..
