On September 6, 2012, William S Pittman was privileged with seeing the stars from the heavens. A goal he worked to achieve for others for 50+ years as an employee of NASA. He passed from this Earth quietly -- similar to the way he lived his life.
His children were with him the weekend before he passed. Each had an opportunity to share memories with him and to let him know how much we loved him. He told us he had to go soon because "Momma" was waiting for him. Momma was his wife of over 50 years, Juanita H Pittman, who passed in 1999.
He is survived by his three children, William S Pittman, Jr. and his wife Beth; Tina Pittman Ritzema and her husband, Rich; Mark L. Pittman, his wife Mari and their three children, Ryan, Connor and Sydney.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 15, 2012, at Forest Park East Funeral Home and Cemetery.
