Carol L. Taylor

1949 - 2020

Taylor, Carol L. Bay City, Michigan Carol Lee Taylor, passed away at Bay City McLaren Hospital on April 11, 2020 as a result of complications from COVID-19. She was born to the late Randolph and Olga (Skuczas) Michael, December 6, 1949, in Saginaw, MI. Carol graduated from Saginaw Arthur Hill High School in 1968 and received a BS in Education from Central Michigan University in 1972. She then married William Dexter Taylor on May 19, 1973, residing in Bay City for the rest of her life. Following a hunting accident that left Bill paralyzed in 1993, Carol was his primary caregiver for over 20 years until he passed away in 2014. In addition to the devoted care of her husband, she was a dedicated teacher at Bay City All Saints for 25 years before retiring in 2011. She took great pride in her career as an educator and remained in contact with many of her former students. Carol found tremendous joy in hearing about her students' lives and achievements well after their graduation. She also enjoyed genealogy research and amassed an extensive collection of family records and photos. She encouraged all to learn from events in history and to seek to understand more than one perspective. She is survived by her two children: Lisa (Chris) Thackery and Steve Taylor; five grandchildren: Mackenzie, Emily, and Samantha Thackery, and Alexandria and Jacob Taylor; and a brother: David (Lynn) Michael. Per Carol's wishes, she will be cremated with final inurnment at Floral Gardens Cemetery joining her husband "under the pine cone." A private memorial service will be held at a future date.
