Charles Moreland Obituary

GREENWOOD - Charles Edward Moreland, of Greenwood, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Jan. 13, 2014. He was a graduate of Temple University, served in the U.S. Air Force, held patents in Industrial Automation Software, installed and tested software on the first NASA Lunar Simulator, and later became a business owner of Control Junctions in Illinois and C2 Associates Inc. in Missouri. In retirement, he continued his love of research, computers, and politics. He was always willing to help others with computer problems or discuss politics. Charlie was survived by his wife, Elaine; his children, Barbara (Steve) Wright of Alabama, Charles III (Susan) Moreland of California, and George Moreland of California; his step-children, Dino (Ronda) Hashman and Donna (Greg) Tinsman, both of Greenwood; 12 grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charles' memory to the Wounded Warriors Project or a local Veterans Home. Charlie was always grateful to those who fought and sacrificed for our freedom. A memorial service will be held at Crossroad Community Church, 20684 State Forest Road, Georgetown, DE 19947, on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at noon.
