Ormond Porter Obituary

GREENWOOD - Ormond A. "Butch" Porter, Jr. passed from this world to the Mothership for the Little Green Men of Greenwood on Oct. 28, 2018.
Remembered fondly by many; and will live in Infamy for others; he lived his life on his own terms. A man of the great outdoors; he spent much time working as an Assistant Athletic Director preparing the 60 acres of athletic fields of Milford School District for events; from which he retired after 30 years of service, where he also served as the Vice President of the Teacher's Union. His passing at this time of year is not a surprise to those who knew him because Halloween was his favorite holiday. When he retired and took up Ballroom dancing, no one was more surprised than his wife. They danced anywhere there was music playing. Everyone in Woodbridge High School could tell you he liked life in the fast-lane, and he had the trophies from the Delmar Race Track to prove it. He loved to paint and created comic characters that cover the walls of his garage.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 43 years, Catherine (Jenson) Porter; son, Zachariah Ray Porter (Christie); his granddaughter, Elliana Alexis Porter; sister, Debbie Elliott (Ronnie); nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Greenwood Fire Hall on Friday, Nov. 16, 2018 at 2 p.m. Instead of flowers, donations can be made to Milford Little League, or Delaware Hospice Center of Milford.
