Sherma Pritchard

Sherma Pritchard, age 82, of Brownstown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Hoosier Health & Living, Brownstown.

Sherma loyally served as an employee at the Nashville gift shop in Brown County for many years.

Sherma cherished her family deeply and especially loved traveling with her husband. She found joy in playing cards and games with family and friends, and she loved to shop.

Born on January 5, 1943, in Utah, Sherma was the daughter of Wendell and Lorna (Hall) Flater, both of whom preceded her in death. On July 10, 1964, in Shelbyville, she married Raymond Pritchard, and he preceded her in death on July 18, 2011.

Survivors include two sons: David (Marikay) Pritchard of Norman, and Scott (Tonya) Pritchard of Brown County; one daughter, Jolynn (John) Goff of Essex Junction, Vermont; three brothers: Billy Flater, Larry (Linda) Flater, and Ron (Pilar) Flater; one sister, Louise Thomas; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Sherma was also preceded in death by one brother, Stanley Flater.

Funeral services for Sherma Pritchard will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Houston Christian Church with her son, David, officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Houston Christian Church.

A private burial will follow at Taggart Cemetery in Brown County.

Memorials may be given to Hoosier Health & Living Auxiliary, Brownstown.
